Elaine (Thompson) Ross Shrum
December 5, 1950 ~ May 13, 2023

Elaine (Thompson) Ross Shrum, 72, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, after a 23 year battle with cancer.

She was born December 5, 1950 to Bill and Betty Jo (Krapff) Thompson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Elaine was raised in Oklahoma City and graduated with the class of 1969 from Capitol Hill High School. She lived in South Oklahoma City, Florida and in 1990 moved back to Oklahoma.

She married Louis Wayne Shrum in 1990 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2011.

Elaine worked for the City of Shawnee in Administration and Urban Renewal, retiring in 2015. After retirement she moved to Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, where she has lived since.

She enjoyed reading Stephen King novels, was an avid traveler, loved going on cruises, listening to a wide range of music, and was an Elvis Presley fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents, Bill and Betty Jo Thompson.

Survivors include 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Leslie and Shane Wright of Shawnee, OK and Ginger and Darrel DeShazo of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; 2 grandchildren, Jamie Allensworth and Jessie Allensworth; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Jan Thompson of Moore, OK; and other extended family and friends.

Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
