May 4. 1939 ~ September 26, 2021

Rollin Elwood Shipley, age 82, of Lindale, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, in Lindale. He was born May 4, 1939, in Watonga, Oklahoma, to the late Rollin and Doris (Yarnell) Shipley.

Elwood has lived in Lindale for the last 5 years, where he was a member of Grace Community Church, and was previously a longtime resident of Enid, Oklahoma, where he was a member of and taught Sunday school at Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a true auto enthusiast and was known to be the absolute best air-cooled Volkswagen mechanic around.

Elwood was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Elaine Shipley.

Elwood is survived by his two sons, Mike Shipley and wife Christina Matysiak of Tyler, Texas, and Brian Shipley and wife Cheryl of Lindale, Texas; brother, Mel Shipley and wife Linda of Enid, Oklahoma; sister, Karen Wise of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren, Amber, Josiah, Sara, Kendra, and Hannah; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
