George Sheward

George Sheward
July 13, 1929 ~ December 17, 2017

George Sheward of Bartlesville, OK. died Sunday December 17, 2017 at his home at the age of 88.

George was born July 13, 1929 to George and Ethel (Robbins) Sheward at Weir, KS. He was of Catholic Faith, and a member of the Nights of Columbus. He married Laura Robbins in 1949 at Pittsburg, KS. After serving 22 years in the Navy, he retired as a Chief Petty Officer. George worked a few years driving trucks and working security in Houston, TX. before moving to Bartlesville in 2009. 

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Laura Sheward of the home. Three children: Michael Sheward of Weir, KS., Linda Thomas and husband Don of Bartlesville, OK. and Dennis Sheward of Pattie of Fischer, TX. Seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. One sister-in-law Claudia Gilliland, of Pittsburg, KS. 

Graveside services will be 12:30 PM Friday December 22, 2017 at the Ft. Scott National Cemetery, Ft. Scott, KS. Father Robert Wachter to officiate, with military honors.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cornerstone Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Services entrusted to the Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville, OK.
