Charles Willard Sherrard

Charles Willard Sherrard
September 21, 1953 ~ October 28, 2025

Charles "Charlie" Willard Sherrard, age 72, an Okemah, OK resident, formerly a longtime Lane area resident. He was born on Monday, September 21, 1953 in Kobe, Japan. Charlie passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Okemah, OK. He graduated high school in Coppers Cove, TX. He also attended schools in Germany, California and many other states. He went on to attend OSU Fire Fighting courses.

Charlie worked in maintenance for the Department of Corrections until his retirement in 2005. After his retirement he was a contractor.

He married Rosa Yvonne (Eaves) on Saturday, August 18th, 1973 at Lane, OK. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before his passing. Charlie enjoyed playing golf with his "old men" friends, fishing, watching sports, Texas Longhorns", playing sports, watching Price is Right, spending time with his family and loved playing and spending time with the grandchildren, and taking them to youth rodeos.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Rosa Yvonne Sherrard of the home in Okemah, OK; children, Chris Sherrard and wife Liz of Atoka, OK, Amy Jones of Okemah, OK, Shannon Sherrard and wife Christina of Lane, OK, Ashlee Brodrick and husband Beau of Dewey, OK; grandchildren, Lexi Myers of Yukon, OK, Katlyn Woolf and husband Brock of Tushka, OK, Dakota Sherrard and wife Malery of Atoka, OK, Taylin Palmer and wife Jackie of Midland, TX, Reagan Sherrard of Atoka, OK, Ciara Angel and husband Cesar of Durant, OK, Presli Sherrard of Lane, OK, Charlee Brodrick of Dewey, OK, Dagan Brodrick of Dewey, OK; 10 great grandchildren, Sebastion Woolf, Benjamin Woolf, Adelayde Sherrard, Maggee Logue, Haygen Logue, Emeree Meyers, Oaklee Meyers, Brently Meyers, Creek Palmer, Cove Palmer; along with other family and many dear and loved friends.

Charlie was preceded in death by his in laws, Ray and Christine Eaves; great granddaughter, Reinee Logue; sister in law, Patti Newton.
