Gary J. Shepherd
April 16, 1951 ~ July 20, 2017

Gary J. Shepherd, of Seiling, passed from this life on July 20, 2017 at the age of 66 years, 3 months, and days.  Gary was born in Clinton to Betty (Mayfield) and Jim Shepherd, Jr.

He was raised and educated in Arapaho, graduating Arapaho High School with the Class of 1969.  He later attended Oklahoma State University. 

On September 24, 1999 he was married to Vynona "Denise" (Elliott) Shepherd in Seiling.  The couple lived in Hydro, Krebs, Bishop, TX, and Pelican Bay, TX before settling in Seiling in 2012.  Gary worked for Shepherd Farm and Shepherd Trucking.  He then worked at Frito-Lay for 24 years.  He in and around the oilfield especially in power.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, (and trapping when he was younger). 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Jim, Jr. and Betty Shepherd.

He is survived by his wife Denise of the home; four children Jodi Shepherd of Arapaho, Traci Hoffman of Seiling, Angela Shepherd of Elk City, and Colby Shepherd and girlfriend Tayler of Oklahoma City; three siblings, Jan Loving and husband Buster of Clinton, Allen Shepherd and wife Tamie of Arapaho, and Terri Herrelson and husband Kirk of Clinton; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as many other aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on TUESDAY, AUGUST 1, 2017 at the Elm Grove Community Church.
