Jerry Lee (Chism) Shepard

Ms Jerry Lee Shepard, Lawton, was born January 12, 1934 in Osceola, Arkansas to Ernest and Jessie (Gillam) Chism. She died February 10, 2014 at a local care facility.

Jerry was raised and attended school in Arkansas. Being one of seven children, she left school to help with family expenses. She married SFC (ret) William Shepard on October 6, 1952 in Arkansas. She enjoyed being a military wife, in part because she lived in Germany, Hawaii and several other US posts. In 1965 they were stationed at Fort Sill, where they retired. William died in 1999. In her free time she enjoyed bowling, golfing and singing with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, William and both of her parents.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Shepard of Lawton, Karen Shepard of Moore and Jerry Shepard of Sherman, TX; grandsons, Stephen Shepard of Lexington, OK, Matthew Garrett and wife Alicia of Oklahoma City and Ryan Grimm of Lawton; granddaughter, Caryn Grimm of Lawton; great-grandchildren, Christian Shepard and Sydney Shepard; 1 great-great grandchild, Cason Criswell; six siblings, Ernestine, Barbara, Ed, Johnny, El Wanda and Hedy; and long-time close friend, Robert Deal.
