Sonia Rae (Langley) Kammiller Sheldon

Sonia Rae (Langley) Kammiller Sheldon
August 6, 1936 ~ November 20, 2018

Sonia Rae Langley Kammiller Sheldon, 82, of Ponca City, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Tulsa, OK.

The only child of Herbert W. Langley and Dorothy C. Johnson Langley, Sonia was born on August 6, 1936 in Newkirk, OK. She was a long time Kay County resident and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1954.

In 1956 Sonia wed Robert Kammiller and to that union three children were born. On November 24, 1994 Sonia and Bliss "Nick" Sheldon were united in marriage in Pawhuska and from that union she gained 4 more children.

They made their home in rural Lamont for 18 years before moving back to Ponca City five years ago.
Sonia was a precious woman. She was easy to get along with and was gracious towards others. Her anger was never shown with rage unless OSU football was having a bad game.

Sonia embraced the role of "Grandma", "Mimi" and "Gigi" for her grandchildren and great grand children. She adored spending time with them and was proud of their accomplishments.

Family history was very important to Sonia. She frequently enjoyed back country road trips to locate the final resting place of her ancestors. The family tree was nearly memorized for several generations and she could quickly recall it at family events.

Sonia enjoyed reading fiction, perusing Facebook, crafting and supporting OSU football. Sonia and Nick traveled the world together with cruises to Europe, South America and four cruises to Hawaii. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her. Please honor her memory by sharing the love she shared with others.

Sonia is survived by her husband Nick Sheldon, her children Lisa and Tim McGraw of Oklahoma City; Jan and Tom Fender of Ponca City; Eric and Julie Kammiller of Derby, KS; Mike Sheldon of Blanchard, OK; Cindy Garza of Bartlesville; Jill and Paul Butler of Bartlesville; Mandy and Nick Morris of Ponca City. Grand children include Jill Trent, Jeffrey McGraw, Mackenzie and Gavan Jenkinson, Tyler Fender, Kristin Kammiller, Charles Kammiller, Autumn Garza, Dylan Butler, Lexi Morris and Niki Morris.

Great grandchildren: Lily Trent, Carter Trent, Noah Jenkinson, Bennett Jenkinson, Claire Jenkinson and dear family friend Jamie Hager and children Kinley and Jace.

Sonia was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial ceremony to celebrate Sonia's life will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Services will be held at Trout Funeral Home and Crematory with Deacon Dick Robinson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 730 W Wilshire Blvd Suite 105, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
