Alvah Willard Sharry
August 17, 1923 ~ February 8, 2012

 

Alvah Willard Sharry, 88, went to be with the Lord February 8, 2012. He was born August 17, 1923 to James Madison and Chloe Sharry and was raised in Caddo County.

He married Dortha Jewel Wilkinson on March 27, 1942. He was first and foremost a family man. He also enjoyed skipbo, pool, horses, coon and bird hunting, being a pitcher for the Capitol Hill Freewill Baptist and Wilson Food ball teams. He was an avid gardener; he grew and sold tomatoes and okra from his garden every year. He also took care of the flowers at Charity Freewill Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his wife Dortha and daughter Carol.

Survived by daughters: Barbara and Deborah, son: Darrell, wife: Flois, eleven grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.
