Lillian Mae (Lewis) Sharp

Lillian Mae (Lewis) Sharp
Nov. 25, 1925 ~ Sept. 20, 2007

Lillian Mae Sharp was born in Alex, Oklahoma, on November 25, 1925, to James and Bessie Lewis.

She came to Shafter in 1948, and married Earl Sharp on January 27, 1953.

Lillian helped support the family by working during her marriage for Armstrong Nursery (formerly Germaine's) and in the potato fields for Bill Gladden.

She enjoyed quilting, and loved fishing at Lake Isabella, Buena Vista, and Lake San Antonio or just about anywhere there were fish.

Lillian was a member of the Seventh Standard Pentecostal Church of God.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 2003.

She is survived by her brothers, Bob Lewis and wife, Norma of Bakersfield, and Alvin Lewis and wife, Anne of Atkins, Arkansas; brother-in-law, R. L. Sharp and wife, Margaret of Lake Isabella; sisters-in-law, Helen Little of Fresno, Juanita Davis of Illinois, and, Barbara Chitwood and husband, Gayle of Bakersfield; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held at Seventh Standard Pentecostal Church of God on Tuesday, September 25th, at 10:00 a.m., for Lillian Mae Sharp, age 81, of Shafter, who passed away September 20, 2007, in Shafter. Pastor Jim Glasco of the Seventh Standard Pentecostal Church of God of Shafter will officiate the service and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park.
