Darlene Seals, 87 year old former Woodward resident and current Enid resident, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Enid. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, Reverend Derrick Thomas officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Vada Darlene (Miller) Seals was born on March 27, 1937 on the family farm west of Sharon, Oklahoma to Clifford Wesley and Mildred (White) Miller. Darlene grew up on the family farm working at her family's dairy. She attended Sharon schools and graduated from Sharon High School. She was united in marriage to Delbert Wayne Thomas on May 19, 1960. They were blessed with two sons: Danny Lee and David Dean. They made their home west of Woodward. Delbert preceded her in death in 1968.
She worked for the Polly Anna cafe' for a period of time and also worked for the Woodward schools in the lunch room. She was united in marriage to Nevyn Seals on April 1,1971. They made their home in Woodward until they moved to Enid in the early 1990's. Darlene continued living in Enid after his death in 2008.
Darlene enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking for her friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Danny Thomas and wife Carla of Mooreland, David Thomas and wife Regina of Woodward; five grandchildren: Derrick Thomas and wife Chesnei, Brett Thomas and wife Lauren, Matthew Thomas and wife Megan, Katelyn Henry and husband Jonny, and Jacob Thomas; seven great-grandchildren: Trace, Asa, Emma, Brynlee, Bays, Kenton, Colton, and one to be born in May; sister-in-law, Marlene Miller; other relatives and friends.
Besides her husbands, Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Vina Neal, two brothers, Ronald Dean Miller and C.W. "Bud" Miller.
