Ames Byron Scroggs
October 8, 1935 ~ June 2, 2023

Ames Byron Scroggs, 87, of Guymon passed away Friday afternoon, June 2, 2023 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The son of Charles Willard and Erma June (Clay) Scroggs, he was born October 8, 1935 in Fairplay, Colorado.

Ames and Carolyn Vee Miller were united in marriage on November 12, 1960 at the Guymon First Christian Church.

Ames was a retired Colorado Hard Rock Miner & Driller.

Ames is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carol Scroggs of the home; three daughters, Denise Hoffman and husband, Randy of Conifer, Colorado, Linda Wolf and husband, Dale of Grand Junction, Colorado and Sinda Ennis of Lakewood, Colorado.

Survivors also include: six grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; two sisters, Kathlene McKinney of Canon City, Colorado and Joy Hurley and husband, Tony of Palisade, Colorado, and two brothers, Clay Scroggs and wife, Eunice of Montrose, Colorado and Aaron Scroggs and wife, Terrie of Paonia, Colorado and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ames life will be held Sunday afternoon, June 11th at 2:00 p.m. at the Victory Center Church with Rev. Margaret Mendenhall officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ames name can be made to Victory Center Building Fund. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
