Lawrence "Chief" Scott, Jr.

Lawrence "Chief" Scott, Jr.
October 7, 1973 ~ June 25, 2022

Lawrence (Chief) Scott, Jr. was born on October 7th, 1973, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was the son of Mary Ann Sam and Lawrence (Bull) Scott, Sr.

Chief loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, digging for wild onion, polk salad and catching crawdads. If it could be caught or hunted, he was chasing it. He was a self-taught jack of all trades. He worked for Guss Construction in Joplin, Missouri. He was a heavy equipment operator and was always fixing stuff that his sister’s broke. Drawing was his passion. He also loved working on cars, building things and turning someone else’s trash into his treasure. There was nothing that he couldn’t fix or make better.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Mary and Lawrence, Sr., his other mom: Susie Lee Eagle, his sister: Margaret “Sis” (Eagle) Wermy, his brother: Darrell Wayne “Gino” Eagle, grandparents: Woodrow and Margaret Sam, Bernice (Wildcat) Sam, Lindia Adair, Joe Scott, Sr. and great niece: Haidon Lenae Adair.

Chief is survived by a loving and devoted family. They include his daughters: Ashlyn Carothers of Cherokee, NC, Skyla Scott of Proctor, OK, stepmom: Agnes Scott of Tahlequah, OK, sisters: Beatrice Thompson and husband Chris of Tahlequah, OK, Rebekah Chuculate and husband Dan of Stilwell, OK, Wenona Sam of Stilwell, OK, brothers: Joseph Sam of Tahlequah, OK, Albert Eagle, Sr. of Stilwell, OK, brother from another mother: Doug Ashley of Joplin, MO and brother-in-law: Ralph Wermy of Lawrence, KS.

He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral Service was held 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Roberts-Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel, Stilwell, OK.
