Visitation for Roy will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK.. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019 at United Methodist Church, Pond Creek, officiated by Rev. Hagen Jackson. Masonic Rites will be performed by the Pond Creek Masonic Lodge #125. Memorials may be made to Pond Creek United Methodist Church, Ross Hospice or Pond Creek Masonic Lodge.

Survived by one son Van Schuermann and wife Natalie Schuerman Enid, OK; wife Ellen Schuermann of Pond Creek; three grandchildren Andrea Brdecka and husband Michael of Fort Worth, TX; Dana Poslick and husband Clay of Enid, OK and Brent Schuermann and wife Jamie of Oklahoma City; two great-grandchildren Grady and Gentry Poslick. He has one surviving sister Rollie Cooper of Plano, TX.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anita (Stewart) Schuermann of Pond Creek, OK. Three brothers Clair Schuermann of Pond Creek, Kenneth Schuermann of Perry, OK and Neil Schuermann of Yukon, OK.

Leroy Leslie (Roy) Schuermann was born Oct. 17, 1930, to Henry and Heylin (Van Valkenburgh) Schuermann in Pond Creek, OK. He attended Jefferson and Pond Creek Schools where he graduated 1948. Roy was a veteran of the USAF where he served in Korean War. After serving his country, he returned to Pond Creek and worked winters for Boeing in Wichita and farmed in the summer. In 1959 he married Anita Stewart of Enid. They lived and farmed in the Pond Creek area. They had one son Stewart Van. Roy farmed there for the rest of his life. Anita passed 2007, and he later married Ellen Wilson of Pond Creek, who resides there today.

Roy was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Pond Creek.

He was a third degree Mason and was very active in the Pond Creek Lodge 125 where he sat as Grand Master seven times through his lifetime.

He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
