October 1, 1952 ~ November 15, 2013

Memorial service for Larry A. Schneider, 61-year-old former Covington resident, will be 2 p.m. today, November 18, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Timothy Dorsch will officiate. Larry was born October 1, 1952, in Oklahoma City to Henry and Mildred (Frickenschmidt) Schneider and died Friday, November 15, 2013 in Bass Baptist in Enid.

He served in the Army and was a truckdriver. He attended Covington schools and graduated with the class of 1970. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for nine years in Korea, Germany, and finally Fort Polk, LA. After the Army, he worked at Koch Nitrogen and also drove a truck, mainly as a bull hauler, which was his passion. His C.B. handle was Wild Man. He enjoyed working on his motorcycle and all forms of mechanics. He was a mechanic in the service where he rose to the rank of master sergeant. He also enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred of Fairmont; daughters, Janis Jeane of Evans, LA, Lavana Greenwood of Texas, and Melanie Kerr and husband Dustin of Lucien; son, Larry Schneider Jr. of Enid; stepdaughters, Jami and Julee; stepson, Joey; grandchildren, Tanie, Terah, Stephanie, Briana, Jocelyn, Toby, Courtney and Vanessa; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister Carol Colvin.

Memorials may be made in his name to the funeral home.
