Robert John Schimon

February 21, 1933 ~ August 9, 2012

There will be a memorial service to "celebrate a life well lived" for Robert John Schimon, age 79, of Carrier, at 10:00 AM Monday, August 13, 2012 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Bob said, "I want my family and friends to remember me as I was in life. I love all of you. I have no regrets and I have tried to live my life to the fullest. I hope each of you will do the same."

Bob was born to John and Margaret (DeVooght) Schimon on February 21, 1933, in Chicago, and died Thursday, August 9, 2012, at his home in Carrier.

Bob grew up in Chicago, and then served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On September 8, 1992, he married Karen Shaw in Oklahoma City. Bob was an insurance agent and serviced clients nationwide. For over fifty years they were his lifetime family.

He is survived by wife Karen of the home; children Tanya Schimon of Colorado Springs, Kevin Schimon of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Linda Jenkins and husband David of Enid, Sheri Baumgardner and husband Troy of Carrier, and Keith Koechel and wife Angie of Carrier; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers Ron Schimon and Raymond Schimon, both of Medford Wisconsin; and sister Rejean Esteghamet of Chicago, Illinois.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Schimon, and brother Richard Schimon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kyle J. Traynor Memorial Scholarship Fund and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
