Gladys Marie Sawyer, age 92, of Moore, OK, formerly of Lexington and Purcell. Passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the Norman Regional Healthplex.
Gladys was born to George and Emma (Pierce) Mills on October 8, 1925, in Oklahoma City and was and only child.
Gladys was raised in Oklahoma City and graduated high school in 1943 from Capitol Hill. She married Glen Robert Sawyer. They had four children, sons, David and Glen Jr., and daughters, Susan and Jeriann.
Gladys worked for a variety of jobs, some of which that include: Southwestern Bell, Oklahoma Hardware, TG&Y, Oklahoma Tax Commission, before retiring from Walmart in 2014.
She dearly loved her children and her grandchildren: Kirk Henderson, Kara Meyer, Chad Pearson, Jennifer Pearson and her great-grandchildren: Kara and Audrey.
Known to countless many, she was affectionately called "Grandma" around the Lexington and Purcell area. She will forever be remembered for being unapologetically herself, unafraid and indifferent to being unliked by some. She was also known for her infectious smile and her outstanding independence and orneriness. She loved fiercely and was greatly loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by:

Husband,
Glen Robert Sawyer and
Parents, George and Emma Mills.
Gladys is survived by:
Her daughters, Susan Pearson of Moore and
Jeriann Henderson of Bartlesville, OK;
Son,
Glen Sawyer of Sacramento, CA;
Daughter-in-law, Marge Sawyer;
4 grandchildren, Chad Pearson and fiancé Shawna Marvel,
Jennifer Pearson and boyfriend Riley Pierce,
Kirk Henderson and wife Sandy Henderson and
Kara Meyer and husband Joe Meyer.
2 great grandchildren, Kara and Audrey, with another on the way, as well as
a host of other family and friends.
Memorial Services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, at 2:00PM at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell, OK.
