Ruth Alline Savage

Jan. 21, 1914 ~ Mar. 19, 2007

Ruth Alline Savage was born on January 21, 1914 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Clyde A. Patterson and Mary Gladys Ingle and passed away in Clovis, California on March 19, 2007.

In 1940- 1945 the Hickson family moved to Bakersfield from Roswell, N.M. After Lewis Hickson's death, Ruth worked as a nurse's aide in the old San Joaquin Hospital where she advanced to Mercy Hospital as a surgical nurse to raise their three children.

In years to follow, Ruth married twice, raising three more children. Ruth was so very proud of her children. They were the light of her life. Her children adore and admire her.

Ruth loved country western music and dancing. Ruth enjoyed working in her yard with her roses but most of all she loved her family.

There was so much more to her life than we can say here. She touched so many lives with her kindness and understanding. Ruth will be missed by so many. She was a special gift to us.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Shirley Joan; her son, Jimmie Lewis; her daughters, Mary Dell and Donna Sue; sisters, Ruby Jo and Minneola and brothers, Kenneth and Dale. Survivors are her children, Marion and her husband, Darwin; Shirley and her husband, Rich; Ronnie and his wife, Pat; brothers, C.A. and Perry; and sister, Jean; also many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 23rd, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. Chapel service will be held Saturday, March 24th, 10:00 a.m., Hillcrest Memorial Chapel.
