Mrs. Pamela Jean Savage, of Durant, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at her home. She was born on September 15, 1960, in Roswell, New Mexico to Robert and Marcelle Russell. She attended Roswell High School. Pam was married to David Savage on April 29, 1976, in Plains, Texas. She moved to Bryan County in 1982 from Roswell, New Mexico, and resided here for the duration of her life.
Pam was an exceptional and fiery woman, who left a profound mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives she touched. She was a teacher assistant for Durant Public Schools and enjoyed spending time with her family and going on adventures with her greatest joys, her grandchildren. Her life was a testament to her fortitude and stubbornness, managing to constantly beat the odds. She lived a life of kindness, without compromising her values. She will be sorely missed.
Pam is preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Savage; her grandparents, Mary Ruth and Manual “Pop” Russell, Mabel and Samuel Russell; and her sister, Eladean Russell.
Pam is survived and missed by her loving husband of 48 years, David Savage, of Durant; her daughter Heather Smiley and her husband Eric, of Durant; her grandson Nathaniel Smiley and his wife Casey, of Perry, Oklahoma; her granddaughter Tapley Smiley, of Durant; her sister Melody Googooian and her husband Bob, of Santa Clarita, California; her sister Tricia Determan and her husband Chad, of Durant; her sister Tami Hooper, of Dallas, Texas; her uncle David Russell and his wife Brenda, of Durant; nieces and nephews Trevor Dyer, Morgan Dyer, Alex Determan, Lily Determan, and Chase Hooper; and special family Blake Smiley and his wife Linda, of Madill, Oklahoma.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at
Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
