James Earnest Sanders, Jr.
December 22, 1959 ~ March 27, 2014

James E. Sanders Jr went to be with his Lord on March 24, 2014 after a race well ran. Jim was born in Ridgecrest, CA on 12/22/1959 to Gerena Pearl and James E Sanders Sr. Jim grew up in a home with his four other brothers. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1969.

He graduated from Jones High School in 1978. He then married in 1979 and had two children, Kara Jewel in 1981 and Zachary Scott in 1982.

Jim served as a volunteer Firefighter at Choctaw for five years. Jim also worked as an EMT for Midwest city EMS. He then became a member of the Bethany fire department family in 1989 and medically retired in 2000 as a driver. Not willing to leave the fire service, he then remained active in the fire service by becoming the Director of the Oklahoma Firefighter"s museum. After leaving the museum, Jim continued a diligent pursuit of his work serving God in the ministry. Jim loved the medical and fire service and loved helping people. Jim married his true love and soul mate, Christina on June 8, 2000.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Gerena and father James Sr., grandparents and several loved ones.

James is survived by his wife Christina, daughter Kara and son Zachary and his wife Cara and step daughter Shelby Emmert, brothers, Steve Sanders and wife Kathleen of Midwest city, Bob Sanders of Nicoma park, Marc Sanders and wife Joyce of Del city and Alan Sanders and wife Rose of Choctaw, step mother, June Sanders of Choctaw, step sister Gina Vincent of Noble and three step brothers James Hopwood and wife Teresa of Midwest city, Alan Hopwood and wife Katie of Oklahoma city, and David Hopwood and wife Angie of Norman. Four grandchildren, Riley Myers, Madison Devine, Jordan Devine, and Makenzie Lane.

He loved his family so much.
