Cyrus "Gail" Sample

August 1, 1952 ~ January 27, 2022 (age 69)

Cyrus “Gail” Sample, 69, of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Newalla, Oklahoma.

He was born August 1, 1952 to Harlie and Loraetta (Powders) Sample in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Gail was raised in the Choctaw area and graduated with the class of 1970 from Choctaw High School. He earned his Associates degree from OSU Tech.

He joined the United States Air Force right out of school in 1970 and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1974.

Gail lived in Midwest City most of his adult life. He worked at Firestone and retired from Thermaclime Technologies in August of 2021.

Gail enjoyed traveling, camping, photography and fishing. His family was very important to him. He never missed his kids or grandkids events and activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlie and Loraetta Sample.

Survivors include 1 daughter and 1 son-in-law, Lisa Marie and Jesse Burgess of Midwest City; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Kevin and Carrie Sample of Little Axe and Chris and Tiffany Sample of Macomb; 4 grandchildren, Cody, Ryan, Lindsey and Kaylee; 3 sisters, Harrietta Williams, Cherry Henson and Katina Prescott; 2 brothers, Harlie Austin Sample and Jay Dean Sample; and other extended family and friends.

Family will hold a Celebration of Life Service for Gail at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. There will be no viewing.
