Hubert Coy Sellee

June 5, 1920 ~ September 27, 2005

Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Friday, September 30, 2005, 10:00 a.m., Shafter Cemetery, Shafter, CA, for Hubert Coy Sellee who passed away September 27, 2005, in Delano, California. Officiating will be Pastor Don Brewer of Church of the Living Savior. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m., at Church of the Living Savior, 149 5th St., in McFarland.

Hubert Coy Sallee was born June 5, 1920, in Muldrow, Oklahoma. A 69 year resident of Kern County, he had been employed by Kern Elementary School as a School Custodian for 26 years. Besides being a loving husband, father and grandfather, Hubert loved his church, gardening, his work at the McFarland Senior Center, as well as his devotion to his beloved animals.

He is preceded in death by his son, Coy Sallee; brother, Bunt Sallee; and sister, Maxine Mahan. Survivors include his beloved wife, Lorraine J. Smith of Delano; his children, Mike Sallee of Bakersfield; Donna Cochran of Clovis; and stepdaughter, Carolyn Smith of Fresno; brothers, Raymond Sallee of San Jose; sister, Kathryn Zollinger of Delano; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank all of the nurses, doctors and friends who have cared for Hubert these past months. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Bakersfield area Cat People and/or the Church of the Living Savior in McFarland, CA, 149 5th St., McFarland, CA 93250
