Luther Sager

May 30, 1948 ~ September 27, 2014

Luther “Frank” Sager, 66, of Scipio, died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 1 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. Arty Hearod officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Born May 30, 1948 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Luther Warren and Mattie Jane (Edmonds) Sager, Frank grew up in Pittsburg County. He married Deborah Lynn Bailey on January 3, 1972.

Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Following his service in the Army, Frank worked for the city of McAlester. He was then employed by the Arkla Gas Company as an air conditioner repairman and also later worked at the stockyards in McAlester.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife: Debbie Sager of the home; sons: Brian Sager and his wife, Sarah of McAlester, Tommy Sager of Lindsey; mother: Mattie Sager of Broken Arrow; grandchildren: Tristan Sager of McAlester, Jenna Sager of McAlester.

Also, brother: David Sager and wife, Susie of Red Oak, sister: Carolyn Inbody and husband, Doug of Broken Arrow, mother-in-law: Edwin Witcher of McAlester, brothers-in-law: James Richardson of McAlester, Carl Richardson of Longtown; sister-in-law: Lisa Carnell and husband, Mike of Macomb, special cousins: Bill Hearod of Indianola, Harold Hearod of Indianola; and numerous nieces, nephews, other cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father: Luther Warren Sager.
