Uwe Rushing

Uwe Rushing was born on April 1, 1963 in Nuremberg, Germany. He died at his home in Lawton, OK on January 20, 2014.

Uwe was raised in Lawton and Nuremberg, Germany where he graduated from high School. He attended Cameron University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in psychology. Uwe was currently employed by Southwest Oklahoma State University in their Adventure Program which partners with the Office of Juvenile Affairs to counsel troubled youth. He actively volunteered with several area programs and Lawton Public Schools, helping to initiate youth development activities. In his spare time, Uwe enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock climbing, rappelling, coaching his son's soccer team, and just spending leisure time with his family and friends.

Uwe is survived by his son, Thorsten Rushing of Lawton; his parents, Richard and Adelinde Rushing of Lawton; a brother, John Rushing and wife Kathleen of Tecumseh, OK, and many cousins, friends and young people he has helped through his work and as a volunteer.

Memorials:
Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Thorsten Rushing at any Liberty National Bank location or any Fort Sill Federal Credit Union location.

5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505
