Thank You For Your Service!

Roy Victor Rowe

October 20, 1912 ~ February 12, 2006

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 17, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary.

Roy Victor Rowe was born October 20, 1912, in Turkey Ford, Oklahoma and passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2006, in Bakersfield, at the age of 93.

He was a Veteran of World War II and served in the Army Air Corps with the 506 Bomb Squad in England.

In 1945, he met and married his bride of 61 years, Winifred Emily and they came to the San Joaquin Valley to settle down.

Roy worked most of his life in agriculture and was a ranch supervisor/consultant to many grape growers and was proud to share his knowledge.

He was a member of the VFW Post 8398 and his hobbies included fishing, hunting and going to the swap meet.

He may be gone, but he certainly isn't forgotten, and never will be. He was from an era where a handshake or his word was a bond, his work ethics were exemplary and his devotion to his family everlasting.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred and is survived by his son, Roy Andrew and wife, Lydia; granddaughters, Sara and Linda. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the wonderful support and services provided by Optimal Hospice.
