Leslie W. Rounds

January 12, 1918 ~ August 27, 1985

Leslie W. Rounds, 67, formerly of Enid, died Tuesday, August 27, 1985 in a hospital at Tacoma, Washington, after an extended illness. Services will be conducted Friday at Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Gig Harbor, Washington.

Rounds was born January 12, 1918, in Enid to Robert L. and Bessie Rounds and attended the Enid school system. In 1936, he and Erma Thomas were married.

Round served in the Coast Guard from 1943 to 1945, and while in Enid was employed by Loomis Furniture Company, Montgomery Ward and the Rounds Upholstering.

In 1970, he and Violet McCloskey were married. She survives. Other survivors are two sons, Bobby Rounds, Wichita, Kansas, and Ernie Barnes, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Suzanne Legall, Kansas City, Missouri; a step daughter, Sheila Skillingstead, Kelso, Washington; a step son, Don McCloskey, New Orleans, Louisiana; his mother, Bessie Rounds, Enid; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Enid) Skipper and Mrs. Neil (Betty) Thorp, both of Enid; nine grandchildren; and a great - grandchild.
