Roy Anderson Rosson

Oct. 5, 1931 ~ Apr. 11, 2007

Roy Anderson Rosson was born in Vian, Oklahoma, to Bill and Edith Rosson on October 5, 1931.

He was married to Birdene Mundy and they had 1 daughter, Judy.

He came to Bakersfield in 1951; and was employed in the agriculture industry working with some of the local potato sheds and he also worked for Jackson & Perkins.

Roy enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting pool, and dancing at the American Legion Hall. He loved animals especially dogs.

Donations may be made in his name to the SPCA, 3000 Gibson, Bakersfield, CA 93308.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Imogene Flud of Bakersfield; daughter, Judy Rosson and her mother, Birdene Russell of Salina, Oklahoma; brothers, Freddie Rosson and wife, Cathy and Carl Rosson; sisters, Beulah Anderson, Joyce Malone, and husband, Jimmy, and Lorene Rosson, all of Bakersfield; 4 grandchildren, Pedro Zardeneta, Carl Cummings, Shawn and Christopher Collier; and many other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Alvin Roy Rosson (1950).

A funeral service will be held at Peters Funeral Home-Shafter, on Monday, April 16th, at 1:00 p.m., for Roy Anderson Rosson, age 75, of Bakersfield, who passed away April 11, 2007, in Bakersfield. Ruby Eastwood of Liberty Tabernacle will officiate the service and interment will be private at Hillcrest Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home-Shafter on Sunday, April 15th, from 3-8 p.m., and Monday, April 16th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
