March 6, 1976 ~ June 17, 2017

Jaye-Demetrius Rolland, age 41, formerly of Ponca City, resident of Dallas, TX, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 in Stillwater, OK.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, June 22 and Friday, June 23 from 8am-8pm. The family will greet friends from 5-7pm Friday, June 23 in the Historic Great Room at the funeral home. A ceremony to gratefully celebrate Jaye's life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 24, 2017 in the Trout Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Chaplain Tom Howard officiating. Following the ceremony, he will be cremated before being laid to rest privately. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Jaye was born on Saturday, March 6, 1976 to Ronald Jay Rolland and Dolley Marie Richard Rolland in Ponca City, OK. Jaye was raised in the Ponca City area, graduating from high school here in 1994. After high school, Jaye embarked on his passions of pursing the betterment of himself through education and worldwide experiences. North Carolina A&T State University was his first stop before he returned to Oklahoma graduating from Oklahoma University in 2001 with Bachelor's Degrees in political science and arts, as well as a fervor for Sooner sports. In 2007, Jaye earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology. As he furthered his education, Jaye also traveled the world, visiting Australia, Europe and his favorite, the English Isles. Music was another element that brought Jaye enjoyment. During his younger years, he took up the Saxophone and Cello, giving him an understanding of the mechanics in music. Later, he loved attending concerts, celebrating life to its fullest with his friends. 

Survivors include his beloved mother Dolley Rolland and partner Winston of Ponca City, cherished sisters: Shawna Rolland and fiancé Ally Pershall of Oklahoma City and Patricia Hodges and husband Tim of Silver Springs, MD, dear niece, Corinne Pershall of Oklahoma City, aunts: Catherine Haynes and husband Leo of Ponca City, Margie Odiachi of Pawnee, OK, Edwina Rolland of Pawnee, OK, uncles: Virgil Lee Griffin and wife Amy of San Marcos, CA and Jerry Rolland and wife Brenda of Pawnee, OK. 

Jaye was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents: J.D. and Mary Richard, paternal grandparents: Hattie Mae and Howard Rolland, Sr. as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
