Deborah Lee (Bartee) Roelofs

Memorial services for Deborah Lee Roelofs, 60, of Rubottom were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 27 in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta with Sherry Tadlock officiating.

Born July 8, 1957, in Dallas, the daughter of Bentley and Mary Bartee, she died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at her home.

Deborah grew up in Richardson, Texas and then moved to Denton to attend North Texas University where she received a bachelor’s degree. After teaching school in Aubrey, Texas for five years she became a flight attendant for American Airlines, retiring after 27 years. Deborah married Lee Roelofs on July 29, 2007, in Ardmore, and the couple established a home at Rubottom. She continued to be active in the American Airlines Caring for Friends Club. In addition, she was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Jimmy Johnson, and also rescued dogs. Deborah loved all sorts of animals. She had a pet Texas Longhorn named Bentley as well as donkeys and horses.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband Lee of the home; brother, Royce Bartee and wife Mary of Memphis, Tennessee; her American Airlines friends; and a host of close friends and church family.

Serving as honorary bearers were Jacob Marsh, Jared Marsh, Johnny Dewbre, and Randy Brey.
