Richard Eugene Roberts

December 6, 1946 ~ April 24, 2019

Richard Eugene Roberts, 72, of Okay, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. He was born on December 6, 1946 to Robert Joy Roberts and Mary Maxine (McGee) Roberts in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Sapulpa High School with the class of 1965. Richard attended Oklahoma State University before entering the Air Force in 1967. He served his county proudly and received an honorable discharge.

Richard married the love of his life, Carolyn Kay Cowell, on December 29, 1967. They shared 51 years of a happy life and marriage together.

He worked at Owens-Illinois for 32 years until his retirement. Richard loved to go hunting and fishing with his family and friends throughout his life. He loved dogs and always had a few that were treated as part of the family. Richard was devoted to his family, especially to his 3 grandchildren. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Roberts; and sister Patsy Roberts Boomer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Roberts of the home; daughter, Gina Luse and husband Walter of Muskogee, OK; son, Matthew Roberts and wife Susan of Okay, OK; grandchildren, Richard Zane Roberts and Nate Roberts both of Okay, OK, and Brenna Cooper of Muskogee, OK; Mother, Mary Roberts of Sapulpa, OK; brother, Robert D. Roberts and wife Patty of Sapulpa, OK; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Richard's life will be 2PM, Monday, April 29, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Pastor Emery Mason officiating.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
