Marjorie Mary (Newport) Riley

Marjorie Mary (Newport) Riley
December 30, 1936 ~ July 20, 2026

Marjorie Mary Riley, beloved mother, grandmother, family member, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on December 30, 1936, in rural Ramona, Oklahoma, to Richard and Mary (Overacker) Newport. Raised on her family's dairy farm, Marjorie experienced the hardships and resilience of life during the Dust Bowl years. She was the youngest of four children.

In 1943, Marjorie and her family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where she began attending Lincoln School at the age of seven. In 1950, at age 14, the family relocated to a farm in Ochelata, Oklahoma, where she continued her education.

In 1952, Marjorie married William G. Waller, and together they were blessed with three daughters. Bill preceded her in death in 2002 following many years of illness, during which Marjorie cared for him with unwavering devotion. She also helped support her family by cleaning homes and took great pride and enjoyment in cleaning and sewing, which remained among her cherished interests.

On Valentine's Day, February 14, 2006, Marjorie married Cecil "CJ" Riley. Together they shared a loving companionship and many cherished years until his passing.

Marjorie is survived by her three daughters, Patricia (Jack) Townley of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Pam (Gary) Hunt of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Anita (Clinton) Hunter of Neoga, Illinois; her grandchildren, Charity Young, Dustin Townley, David Hunt, Belinda Harvey, Brittney Hunter, and Tiara Hunter; and her great-grandchildren, Skylee, Josh, Leah, Brooklyn, Abigail, and Bentley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Newport; her siblings, LeRoy Newport, Betty Romine, and Esther Burton; her first husband, William G. Waller; and her second husband, Cecil "CJ" Riley.

A funeral service honoring Marjorie's life will be held on July 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
