Bertha (Sherfield) Rigsby

July 27, 1911 ~ June 7, 2009

Bertha Sherfield Rigsby was born July 27, 1911 in Boxley, Arkansas to Sam Sherfield and Matilda (Robinson) Sherfield.

She departed this life June 7, 2009 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 97 years, 10 months, and 11 days.

She married Lou Rigsby on June 14, 1949.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Sam Swafford, and grandson Junior Swafford, her sisters; Martha Guthrie, Fanny Hoove, Millie Hoover, Josie McGowan, and her brother; George Sherfield, Johnny, Billy, Dorthy, Clara Mae, Roosevelt, and Julie Ann Swafford, Henry Davis, were also family members who preceded Bertha in death.

Bertha is survived by her daughter in law; Laveda Swafford of Stilwell, one sister; Ore Swafford, of Hulbert, OK., four grandchildren; Sheila Winkler and husband Allen of Stilwell, Kathy Griffin and husband Jason of Evansville, AR., Larry Swafford and wife Kathy of Stilwell, Carolyn O'Neal and husband Jim. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephew, and other relative and friends.
