Zane L. Richardson

Oct. 31, 1926 ~ Nov. 23, 2008

Funeral services for Zane L. Richardson will be 11 a.m. today, Nov. 25, 2008, at Homestead Bible Church with Pastor Lonnie Ott and Pastor Larry Harris officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, in Leann Cemetery , Leann, Mo., with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Okeene. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com. The casket will be open at the church after the service and at the cemetery before the graveside service.

Zane was born Oct. 31, 1926, on a small farm near Jenkins, Mo., and went to be with his Lord on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at Golden Oaks in Enid, Okla., at the age of 82.

Zane began his young pastoring at the age of 20 and attended Bible College in St. Louis, Mo., from 1952 to 1958.

While at Bible College, Zane married Thelma Gibson June 6, 1953. He then pastored eight to 10 churches in Missouri before coming to Dacoma, Oklahoma Bible Church, serving there from 1975 to 1977. Then Zane went to Homestead , Oklahoma Bible Church to lead the congregation from August 1977 through May 1982. After this, he stepped out of the full-time ministry to work with the IFCA Church Extension Missions in Hobbs, N.M., and the Indian reservation in Sanders, Ariz., until 1988. In 1989, he returned to full-time church work in Galmy, Mo., and after heart surgery went to full-time missionary work in 1992 with the Central States Church Extension in Kansas and Oklahoma until he retired at the age of 80 in 2006.

Zane was preceded in death by his father, John Pete Richardson and mother, Myrtle Doty Richardson of Jenkins, Mo., and grandson, Brian Keith Vines of Enid, Okla.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Richardson of the home in Ringwood, Okla.; three sons, John Richardson of Buffalo, Missouri, Darrell Richardson and wife, Jean of Enid, Okla., and Keith Richardson of Okeene, Okla.; two daughters, Sharon Vines and husband Paul Hildebrandt of Enid, Okla., and Janet Lines and husband Michael of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Calvin Richardson and wife, Terry of Florence, Ore.., and Zethro Richardson and wife Leona of Aurora, Mo.; one sister, Ellen Butler and husband John of Jenkins, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Homestead Bible Church through Lanman Funeral Home Inc., P.O. Box 372, Okeene, OK 73763.
