Bernice Serlena (Booker) Richardson
March 18, 1927 ~ December 31, 2024

Bernice Serlena (Booker) Richardson was born, the tenth of twelve children, to Tom G Booker and Priscilla Barefield Booker on March 18, 1927, in Bristow, Oklahoma. She passed away December 31, 2024, in Midwest City at the age of 97.

Bernice grew up in Chandler and graduated from high school there. In 1945, she married Henry “Hank” Richardson of Detroit. To this union one son was born, Terry Lee Richardson.

Bernice was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 23, 1950, while serving with the State Fair Congregation in Detroit, Michigan. However, since the formation of the Conant Congregation, she served Jehovah as a “Conanite” until she moved to Oklahoma. Once she moved to Oklahoma, she joined the Nicoma Park Congregation and was faithful until her death.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Booker and Priscilla Barefield Booker; husband, Henry Lee “Hank” Richardson; son, Terry Richardson; siblings, Henry Booker (Ruth), Louise Dotson (Wilbert), Hurshal Booker (Helen), Oscar “MD” Booker (Helen), Alta Turner (Henry), Sadie Rogers (Emerson), Enola Booker, Isadora Moore (Luddie), Herman Booker and Darlene Booker Caldwell (Robert). Survivors include her granddaughters, Terah Richardson (Kevin) and Tamara Johnson (Leo); great-grandchildren, Anthony, Quinton, Elijah, Aaleeyah, and Roman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and spiritual brothers and sisters.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 3601 S Anderson Rd, Oklahoma City 73150. The funeral will be available online on Zoom for those unable to attend, Meeting ID# 89861523403 and Password 502044. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
