Patricia June "Pat" (Baker) Reed

Patricia June "Pat" (Baker) Reed
February 14, 1948 ~ May 16, 2026

Patricia June Reed, 76, of Platter, OK passed away peacefully Saturday, May 16, 2026 in Colbert, OK. Though she was simply known as “Granny” to most, her lasting impression to those closest to her is anything but simple.

Pat was born on February 14, 1948 in Bells, TX to the late Dorothy Higgins Baker and Cecil Boone Baker. She attended Colbert High School until 1964.

On December 31, 1976 she married Roy Reed Sr and they raised their blended family together. Their inviting home and love would leave an unforgettable mark on their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and countless foster children for years to come.

She worked as a cashier at Walmart for many years. Never one to shy away from keeping busy, she returned to work after her retirement. She was employed by Colbert Public School and Big Five Services the last several years where she enjoyed her role as “Mrs. Pat”. She remained in the classroom with her little ones until January 2026 when a sudden illness kept her from returning.

Granny loved to garden, hunt a good deal, and just sit on the porch for a good chat or cup of coffee. Though she enjoyed these things, her greatest joy in life was her family and caring for them in any way she could. Grandkids and great grandkids alike were able to make memories in her home that will last a lifetime. From a dozen cousins waking on a living room pallet to a full breakfast or to a van full of kids arriving at Cici’s Pizza (where you might have to “adjust” your age to eat free) no one walked away hungry. Holiday gatherings were crowded and no one was ever turned away. There was always enough for everyone and usually more to be sent home, you just better dang sure bring her bowl back. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Reed Sr, sister Nelda Baker, brother Harold Baker, children Roy Reed Jr, Velvern Reed, and Joseph Shawn Metcalf, granddaughter Jessica June “Jessi” Bundrant, and great grandson Talon Grey Kuykendall. Pat is survived by son Bryan Metcalf and wife Marilyn, daughter Renee Bundrant Olguin and husband Carlos, daughter in law Deanna Metcalf Thomas. Grandchildren John Marquez, Elicia Marquez, Bryant Metcalf and wife Danielle, Cavan Metcalf and wife Hunter, Lindee Davis and husband Cody, Dusty Metcalf, Brittni Kuykendall and husband Kasey, Alli Townsend and husband Cody, Tiffany Metcalf, Hunter Metcalf, Amanda Bundrant, Caroline Casey and husband Thomas, Nancy Wakefield and husband, Anthony Floyd and wife Kelcee, Joann Hamilton and husband Chad, Jelissa Reed Clemons and husband Tommy, and Andy Duke. Great grandchildren Taylor Marquez, Mattie Coen, Jaxson Marquez, Jaycee Marquez, Kai Marquez, Kinzee Coker and significant other Parker Renfro, Ty Davis, Seth Davis, Nikki Metcalf, Dakoda Metcalf, Ajay Metcalf, Kadie June Metcalf, Kaiden Thompson, Jaxon Thompson, Emmalynn Metcalf, Holden Metcalf, Remington Metcalf, Credence Metcalf, Kimberlyn Metcalf, Avy Wright, Zayden Wright, Riley Wright, Roman

Wright, Oakley Kuykendall, Corbin Townsend, Jordyn Townsend, Jada Olguin, Melody Smith, Peyton Lyde, Creighton Hamilton, Chey Hamilton, Cody Hamilton, Cheyenne Hamilton, David Clemons, Austin Clemons, Angel Clemons, Rhonda Clemons, Gavin Floyd, Gaige Floyd, and Jaci Floyd. Great Great Grandchildren Taylee Renfro, Lainee June Renfro, Kason, and Aniya. Brothers Cecil Baker and Dave Shatto. Sister Beverly Ann Miller. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Family was never a matter of legality with Granny. Once you were in the family, she was now your Granny too. There wouldn’t be enough room to name all her foster children or everyone she considered family, but these special family must be included- Nancy O’Brien and husband Tommy, Coy Coker, Harlan Wright, Danica Gibson and husband Josh along with children Bryce and Laryn, Sherry Lopez, Megan Beall and husband Jeremy along with children Holden and Neely, and Breanna Huff.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 1100 at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, OK. Family friend John Dozier will officiate. This will be a joint service with her sister, Beverly.

Family and friends will gather directly after at Platter Flats Pavillion for food and remembrance.

Family would like to extend a special thank you to TMC, Southern Pointe Living Center, Homestead of Denison, and especially Victory Hospice with nurses Lyndsi and Bryan for your quick coordination and care to get Granny home as she wished. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and are truly appreciated.
