Ruby M. (Burris) Reece

Ruby M. (Burris) Reece
November 9, 1956 ~ August 7, 2019

Ruby M. Reece was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on November 9, 1956. She spent her childhood years living with her Aunt Lena and Uncle Leonard Landry, attended Eisenhower High School until she moved to Idabel, OK to live with her parents Duke and Ruby Burris along with her other siblings.

For 19 years, she was married to the late Lonnie Reece of Gainesville, TX. They had three children, Yolander "Annette" Newkirk, Malissa M. Reece, and Lena M. Reece. Ruby was a beloved housewife who took pride in making sure her children were taken care of and that they had a relationship with God. Ruby never met a stranger. She would give the clothes off her back for anyone in need. Ruby loved life and most of all she loved her family, close friends, and God. "You never wondered where her love lied, because she made it a point to call and stay connected with all of her loved ones." She was an amazing woman, with a smile that would brighten the room and words of encouragement that could lift any broken heart.

In love, we gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Ruby Marie Reece (Aka Button). Ruby was carried away on angels' wings to meet the Lord and to be reunited with her heavenly family on August 7, 2019.

Ruby is preceded in death by: her husband, Lonnie Reece; her mother, Ruby Burris; her aunt and uncle who helped raise her, Leonard and Lena Landry.

Ruby is survived by her three daughters: Yolander and SD Newkirk Tampa, FL; Malissa and Anthony Smith Lawton, OK; Lena and Billy Young Jr. Lawton, OK; her Grandchildren: Tre'von Burks Lewisville, TX and Rebecca Reece Lawton, OK; her Great Grandchildren: Jayven Thomas and Roman Burks Lewisville, TX; her siblings: Cynthia Smith Los Angeles, CA; Rickey Burris and sister-n-law Lechei Burris Palmdale, CA; her Aunt, Ethel Eldridge Port Hueneme, CA; best friend, Judy Lott Wichita Falls, TX and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she dearly loved.
