Kerry Lee Record

Kerry Lee Record
November 3, 1959 ~ January 25, 2014 (age 54)

Kerry Lee Record was born November 3, 1959 in Palo Alto, California to Charles and Glorianne Myrum Record.  Kerry went to heaven January 25, 2014 in Norman, Oklahoma after a six month battle with cancer.

Kerry went to school in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Oklahoma City and Del City, and graduated from Mounds High School in 1978.  Kerry had many happy memories of living with his brother, Kirby, and sister, Keely on their family’s land in Pickett Prairie, Oklahoma.  He attended Northeastern State University.

Kerry’s son, Charles, was born in 1981 in Tahlequah.  The family moved to Norman in 1983, then lived in Noble for many years.  Kerry worked for The University of Oklahoma Paint Shop for thirteen years then started his own business about eight years ago.  Kerry and Caryn were married June 1995.  Their daughter, Cecilia, was born in 1996 and three years later they welcomed daughter, Mia.

Kerry was a loving husband and father.  He spent lots of time with his family.  Kerry was a friend to many.  He talked on the phone and visited with people every day.  Kerry always enjoyed fishing with his dad, brothers and friends.   Kerry was an avid Oklahoma Sooners football fan.  The family loved hosting game days and Kerry always had “the best seat in the house” watching the Sooners win on T.V. at home.  Kerry had a competitive spirit and liked to succeed.  Even though his life was cut short, he was a positive example and influence to countless people and his life was definitely a success.

Kerry is survived by wife, Caryn; his son, Charles; his daughters, Mia and Cecilia of Norman; his father, Charlie Record and wife Glenda of Noble; his brother, Kirby Record and wife Blanche of Norman; his sister, Keely Record of Tulsa; and his brother, Brian Bratcher and family of Del City.  Kerry also had nephews, Lee Record, Luke Record and Jeff Fannon of Norman, Kyle Bratcher of Del City, Tanner Madden and Gabriel Williams of Washington, Oklahoma, and John Lindstedt of Florida.  Kerry’s nieces are Katie Paukei of Norman, Julia Lindstedt of Winter Garden, Florida, and Lauren Bratcher of Del City.  Kerry’s “favorite mother-in-law” was Linda Goodman of Norman.  Sister-in-law, Shana Anderson and husband Chris also live in Norman.

Arrangements for Kerry and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at www.HavenbrookFuneralHome.com.
