Memorial services for Nora Ray, 62, of Francis, OK are at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Doyle Smith will officiate.
Ms. Ray passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at an Ada hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born February 19, 1959 in Ada, OK to George and Glenella Metcalfe. She graduated from Byng High School and attended ECU. By the age of 23 she was married, living in Wyoming where she had her daughter Jody. After becoming a mother she spent most of her time in and around Ada and Byng. Mostly you could find her at her church, crafting something amazing, teaching others how to craft, reading the Bible, caring for her friends and family, and in her last years working on her own book and being an editor for many others. She also enjoyed being a member of the Ada Writers Club.
Nora had the most amazing heart, she gave many years of her life to the care of her family as they preceded her in death, father George Metcalfe, mother Glenella Smith, and brother Dane Metcalfe. Many others can say they received love and support from her throughout her life, she believed it to be her calling from our God above, and she cherished the thought of being able to help anyone in need.
She is survived by her daughter Jody Shook and husband Tylan of Talkeetna AK; her step-father, Doyle Smith of San Antonio, NM; and four grandchildren, Sky Shook, Gauge Shook, Shad Shook and Breeze Shook.
