Karen Sue Rawlins, 74 year old wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, of Caney KS, died Monday at her home in Caney.

Karen was born the daughter of Millard and Mary (Nickle) Vandiver on August 13, 1943 in Miami, OK. She was raised in Miami graduating high school in 1961. Karen met Howard Dean Rawlins at church and after some time they were united in marriage on June 1, 1962, and enjoyed 55 years of loving marriage. Once married Karen joined Howard in Georgia where he was stationed at Fort Gordon until he was deployed to Korea and she returned home to Miami. After Howard's honorable discharge they made their home in Caney. Karen worked the tax seasons at PA Ingel CPA, she enjoyed her job working in the Caney High School cafeteria and then at Kopco Printing in Caney.

Karen's priority was being a good Christian, a good wife, mother, and homemaker and she was good at it. Karen was an avid reader and loved to watch TV. She enjoyed word searches and was an excellent seamstress. Later in life, she and Howard became homebodies and enjoyed spending quiet time together. She loved her grandkids and went to visit them regularly. Most of all she loved the Lord and her home church the Dewey Church of Christ.
