Leota "Lee" (Foster) Randleman

Leota "Lee" (Foster) Randleman
July 4, 1936 ~ July 15, 2022

Leota "Lee" was born in Cleo Springs on July 4, 1936, the daughter of John C. Foster and Elsie "Pat" (Dillard) Foster. She passed away at home Friday, July 15, 2022.

When Leota was young, the family moved to southern California, where she received much of her early education. After the war, they returned to Cleo Springs, where she graduated high school in 1954. Leota played basketball, softball, and volleyball.

She married Bill Hurst in 1955 and gave birth to their four children, Russell, Gregory, Robin, and Troy. She later went on to marry William Self in 1972 and had daughter Lisa.

Early in her career she worked with her mother in a small Café in Cleo Springs which she spoke of often. There they prepared delicious dishes and baked decadent pies, cakes, and cinnamon rolls. Later she moved to Enid and held a dedicated career working various positions at the Enid State School, where she retired after 20-plus years. After retirement, she spent some time in Nashville dabbling in the music industry, rubbing elbows with some of her favorite artists and often hanging out backstage of the Grand Ole Opry. She wrote several songs after returning to Oklahoma that were recorded by a Nashville friend.

Leota loved family get-togethers, music, Elvis and ice cream.

She is survived by her loving children, Russell (Lynn) Hurst, Robin Edmonson, Troy (Lesley) Hurst, and Lisa (David) Moore, and grandchildren; Joe, Billy, Michael, and Clay Cox, Dakota Knabe, Jason Hurst, Demi Juhl, Katelin Sauer, Shelby Moore; many great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Gregory Hurst; her siblings, Loretta Gharib, Patty Wilcox, Oletta Pearcy, and J.C. Foster; and great-nephew Toren Foster.

Family will meet for an informal remembrance and celebration of life.
