William Charles Randle

William Charles Randle
March 11, 1942 ~ January 11, 2015 (age 72)

William Charles Randle departed this life at his home in Norman, Oklahoma on January 11, 2015.  Bill was born March 11, 1942 in Pratt, Kansas to Herb and Dorothy May (Shrack) Randle.

He married Dorothy Ann (Edsall) Randle on August 11TH, 1961.  

In 1964, Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University.  He continued his studies, earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1966.

Bill recently remarried Paula Green on July 20th, 2014.  They resided in Tonganoxie, KS.

Bill was an accomplished veterinarian.  He owned Town & Country Veterinary Hospital in Duncan, OK for many years before moving on and practicing at Swaim Serum in Oklahoma City. He held veterinarian licenses in many states, including Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, New Jersey, Utah, and Colorado.  His passion to care for animals was shared with his wife Ann.  Bill had a love of learning, especially medicine, science, history, travelling, and an incredible love for the outdoors.  

Bill was active in his community, joining the Duncan Jaycees in 1967 and serving as Director, Vice President, and President. This wasn’t enough service for Bill and he joined the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks in 1970, a Toastmasters member, Moose Lodge member, Merit Badge Advisor for both the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of America.  He also served as President of the American Red Cross, Stephens County, Team member and Captain of the Duncan United Fund, Member of the First United Methodist Church and Senior High Youth Sponsor.  He also served on the Duncan Regional Hospital Board of Directors.  

Bill is survived by his wife, Paula Green and her daughters Heather and Katherine Wombwell; son Jody Randle and wife Kelly, their daughters Amanda (Randle) Wheaton of Tulsa and Abby Randle of Oklahoma City; son Barry Randle and wife Toni, their son Abe and daughter Ann Frances of Dallas; and daughter Jenifer Randle (Jiffy) of Oklahoma City.

Bill is also survived by his sister, Janet (Randle) Dethrow and husband Dewey, their children Randy, Dana, and John David; his sister-in-law, Kaye Christman.  Kaye’s daughter Tracy and family of La Center, WA.  A niece Shelly Dorris and her family of Ft. Worth TX.; He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

The family will gather with friends at the Randle home, 901 Pinebrooke Ct, Norman, OK on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 5:00-8:00pm.   A memorial service will follow on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00am at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, Kansas.  Family and friends will gather at a location after the memorial service at a location to be determined.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the William Charles Randle Memorial Fund, KSU Foundation, 2323 Anderson Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502.  These funds will go to the College of the Veterinary Medicine.    

A few words that sum up Bill’s life are, “I came, I saw, I conquered.”
