O. R. "Quig" Quigley, Jr.
June 29, 1927 ~ June 12, 2015

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for O.R. Quigley Jr., 87, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at Willow Road Christian Church. The Rev. Carrell E. Still will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. O.R. passed away June 12, 2015, in Enid.

O.R. "Quig" Quigley was born June 29, 1927, on a farm 4 miles west of Carrier, Okla., to Orval and Nina (Eakin) Quigley.

O.R. attended Carrier schools and then joined the Navy Seabees. Later, he received an honorary high school diploma at Chisholm High School on Nov. 11, 2002, of which O.R. was very proud, but he was even more proud of having his name engraved on the Veterans Memorial Wall at Woodring Regional Airport in Enid, Okla.

O.R. married Colleen Hart on April 9, 1951, lasting 64 years.

They moved to Wakita, Okla., where O.R. farmed, then later returned to Carrier, 3 miles west, to continue farming. O.R. then worked for General Mills Elevator in Enid, later transferring to become manager of Carrier General Mills Elevator, retiring in 1989. O.R. grew up in Carrier Congregational Church, later transferring his membership to Willow Road Christian Church.

O.R. enjoyed visiting with people, especially with his coffee buddies.

O.R. is survived by his wife, Colleen, of the home in Enid; five children, son Odie Quigley of Elk City, son David Quigley and wife, Darla, of Enid, son Scott Quigley of Enid, daughter Sally Lugo and husband Eugene, of Grapevine, Texas, daughter Susan Corbet and husband Clay, of Haviland, Kan.

O.R. was very proud of his grandchildren, Brice Quigley, Miranda Long, Katie Quigley, Addison Lugo, Gabrielle Lugo and Megan Quigley. He also leaves five great-grandchildren, Jesse Quigley and wife Miranda, Zakk Quigley, Aubrey Long, Charlie Long, Cory Quigley and one great-great-grandson, Grayson Quigley.

O.R. also is survived by a sister, Elma Lee Eddington and husband Gary; brother, John Quigley and wife Johnnie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

O.R. was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ellen Butler; and grandson, Chet Quigley.

Memorials may be made to Woodring Wall of Honor or Willow Road Christian Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of funds.
