Donald Grant Pumphrey

April 4, 1907 ~ May 25, 1989

Donald Grant Pumphrey, 82, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died Thursday, May 25, 1989 in a local nursing home.

He was a salesman for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 15 years.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 1989 at the Shrine of Rest Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.

Mr. Pumphrey was born April 4, 1907 in Dill City, Oklahoma to Alice T. and Frances I. Hargrove Pumphrey.

He lived in Pampa, Texas some 25 years before moving to Colorado Springs in 1961.

He attended Southwestern State Teachers College in Weatherford, Oklahoma; and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #966 in Pampa.

Mr. Pumphrey was married December 26, 1931, in Cordell, Oklahoma, to Alice M. Page, who survives.

He is also survived by a daughter, Donna Enns of Colorado Springs; a son, Jerry D. of Denver; two brothers, A. T. of San Antonio, Texas; and Roy J. of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Reba Horn of New Bert, Oregon; and Mary Frances Hinze of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three grandchildren; as well as other relatives and numerous friends.

Mr. Pumphrey attended Leedey Schools as a youth, graduating with the Class of 1925.

Before moving to Pampa, he was a Leedey businessman.

Our sympathy goes to Mrs. Pumphrey and family, to the brothers and sisters and other relatives.

Burial in Haw Creek cemetery, Hope, Indiana.
