Frank Proctor, Sr.

???? ~ June 9, 1988 | Age 76

Longtime resident of Cottonwood, Frank Proctor, Sr. died June 9, 1988 following a brief illness. He was 76.

Frank was born in Minco, Oklahoma and worked in Hammon and Redmoon for the railroad.

After the death of his first wife, Flora, he moved to Arizona in 1936, where he worked for the Mining Union as a heavy equipment operator. He retired in 1978 from this job and has lived in Cottonwood for the past 24 years.

Mr. Proctor was a member of the Moose lodge and the Verde Baptist Church where he served as usher for many years. In the last few years, the elderly, shut-ins best remember him as the friend who delivered them tapes of previous Sunday's sermons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; his son, David; and two grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; two daughters, Oweita Calvert of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; and Etta Augenstein of Yuma, Arizona; one son, Frank Jr. of Cottonwood; three sisters; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Services were held for Mr. Proctor, Monday, June 13, 1988 with concluding rites at the Williams, Arizona Cemetery.
