Johnny Privett, Jr.
April 3, 1931 ~ August 4, 2016

Visitation for Johnny Privett, Jr., 85, of Ada will be 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Criswell Funeral Home. As per his request, there will be no funeral service.

Mr. Privett passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at his home. He was born April 3, 1931 in Broken Bow to Johnny A. and Ethel Oakley Privett. He attended Broken Bow schools and graduated from Broken Bow High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from East Central University August 1964. He later attended the University of Oklahoma for Police training and certification.

He married Wanda L. Smith July 2, 1955 in Broken Bow. They moved to this area in 1955 from Broken Bow. From 1966-1985, Mr. Privett was the Director of Security at East Central University for 32 years.

He served in the U. S. Army for 16 months from 1953 to 1955 in Korea. He served as a Chief section Officer in field artillery. He was honorably discharged in January, 1955 He also was a teacher and men and women�s tennis coach at East Central University. He enjoyed playing golf at Lakewood Golf Course and he was affiliated with Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of the home; a son, Wayne Privett and his wife Lori of Ada; daughter, Kathy Pettus of Ada; his grandchildren, Miranda Scott and husband Rob of Jones, Whitney Ballard and her husband Michael of Blanchard, Brandon Privett and his wife Crystal of Ada, Kelli Eastwood and her husband Chris of Moore and Katie Privett and her fianc�, Lance Weaver of Ada; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Gene Privett and wife Mary of Mesa, AZ; and a sister, Charlene Higgins and husband O. H. of Broken Bow.

He was preceded in death by his father; his mother and step-father, Ethel and Charlie Lackey; and a brother, Clermon Lackey.
