Memorial service for Alvin A. Price, 89, of Enid, Okla., will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Dr. Douglas P. Johnson will officiate. A private family burial will precede the service, where military graveside honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Service is under the direction of Brown Cummings Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 31, 1924, to Eldridge and Edith Wynn Price in Dallas, Texas, and passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, in Enid. He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and then served in Korea until he was honorably discharged in 1952 with the rank of major. He received a business degree from the University of Texas.

He worked for Stanolin Oil & Gas in Lubbock, Texas, for three years, Ohio Oil Co. for 31?2 years in Oklahoma City. He owned and operated Kem-Weed Control from 1960-1978, at which time he formed Air Central Commuter Service at Woodring Airport. He was an independent oil and gas consultant until the age of 85.

He was a two-time president of the Grand National Quail Club, where he was privileged to entertain many notable celebrities and influential people. He attended former president Richard Nixon�s Inauguration in 1973.

He married his wife, Nadine on Aug. 31, 1984. He was a member of St. Matthew�s Episcopal Church.

He is survived by five daughters, Deborah Faulk of Enid, Marsha Edmiston and Joe Max of Eldorado, Texas, Renee McReynolds and Stan of Fort Collins, Colo., Gina Pierce-Holmes and Mark of Wakita, Okla., and Tricia Ekberg-Cashwell and Duane of Enid; Also by, Jimmy Ray Shepherd of Naples, Fla., Rick Shepherd and Rose Mary of Cleo Springs, Okla., Connie Attard and Steve of Temperance, Mich., Doug Harris of Enid, Okla.; one sister, Jeamsie Price of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister-in-law, Kathryn Price of Palestine, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Edith Price; his wife, Nadine; two brothers, Brad and Sterling; two sisters, Lorraine and Evelyn; and two sons-in-law, Joe Pierce and Gary Ekberg.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the fine caregivers at Golden Oaks and Hospice Circle of Love for their compassionate care.

Memorials may be given to St. Matthew�s Episcopal Church or a charity of donor�s choice with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
