Daniel “Dan” B. Powers, 73 of Durant, OK passed away on May 21, 2018 in Bonham, TX. He was born on May 11, 1945 in Hobart, OK to Bud and Vivian (Fowler) Powers.
Dan went to Hobart High School and OSU Tech- Okmulgee. He also served in the United States Army. Later Dan worked as a factory worker and at the newspaper printer. He married Sandra “Sandy” Stephens in Hobart, OK on January 2, 2000, and five years ago moved to Durant from Hobart. Dan was involved in the VFW, DAV, and American Legion. He was also of the Baptist faith. He loved to fish, building stuff, flea markets, dominoes, cards, and playing with grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Dan is survived by his wife Sandy of the home, sons; Neal Powers and wife Rachel of Oklahoma City, OK, and Bubba Foster and wife Marnita of Ravia, OK, daughters; Tracy Britton and Brooke Foster both of Cordell, OK, grandchildren; Alex Foster of Madill, OK, Preston, Dustin, and Misty Britton of Cordell, OK, and Hailey, James, Dyllen and Gracie Carman of Cordell, OK, numerous great grandchildren, sister Janice Jantz and husband Arthur of Altus, OK, his favorite cousins Linda, Janet and Jeannie, and sister in law Debbie Brown and significant other Larry Wood of Tishomingo, OK.
Memorial Service will be Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Les Banks will be conducting the service. Condolences can be sent to www.brownsfuneralservice.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant, OK.
