Oran "Bennie" Powell
December 25, 1926 ~ June 27, 2016

Oran "Bennie" Powell, age 89 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away June 27, 2016 in Guthrie. He was born on December 25, 1926 in Pleasant Valley, near Coyle, Oklahoma to Edward and Nina Powell.

Oran lived in Logan County most of his life and served in the United States Army. He worked as a roofer. Oran married Marilyn Pendleton on April 24, 1982 in Guthrie.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn, 3 children, Carol Sue Panick of Bartlesville, OK, Betty Hicks of Guthrie, OK and LaHonda Powell of Louisiana; 2 step children, Lora Mujica and Russell Hyslop both of Edmond, OK; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and 1 sister June Simpson of Guthrie, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Powell, sister Juanita Burk, son Bennie Joe Powell, grandson Brian Panick, step grandson Steven Medideth and step dad J.J. Burk.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 2:30 P.M. at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
