July 22, 1930 ~ January 20, 2021

 Betty Jean Bush Post, age 90, long time resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Scott Melton officiating. Face masks are required. For those unable to attend, the ceremony will be live-streamed. The broadcast can be accessed by visiting www.troutfuneralhome.com starting at 9:45 AM, and selecting the live stream link in the upper right hand of the homepage.

Betty was born July 22, 1930 in Independence, Missouri to William Arthur (Art) Bush, Sr. and Beulah Maye (Shorty) Hogsett Bush. She grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1949. After High School, she went to work as a telephone operator, and later held positions in keypunch operation and bookkeeping. She worked for Jueschke Carpet Service, Ponca City Savings and Loan, Hospital (Arkansas City), and Lemonnier Construction. She was well known for her achievements in cooking, arts and crafts, decorating, gardening and greeting cards.

She was interested in traveling, water skiing, hunting, fishing, horses, motorcycles and playing card games. She loved to go to church and served in many ministries. She loved her family and friends, enjoyed spending time with them, making sure they had a nice place to go and something delicious to eat.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred E. Post, brother, William (Bill) Arthur Bush, Jr., son-in-law, John Blake, and three infant grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Myers, Jana Blake, Kevin Jueschke (wife Cyndee); three grandchildren, Amanda Blake (husband, John Schmidt), Ariel and Seth Jueschke; one great-grandchild, Jordan Vick; and Eldred Post’s children Richard (Bud) Post, Nancy Taylor and Stephen Post.

The family would like to thank all the friends, neighbors, church members and caregivers that spent time, helping and caring for her over the years in Ponca City, Lake Charles and Baton Rouge.
