Paul Velker Porter

Paul Velker Porter
June 22, 1960 ~ June 7, 2015

Paul Velker Porter, 54, died of natural causes in Denver, Colo., on Sunday, June 7, 2015. He was born in Enid, Okla., on June 22, 1960, to Dennis and Polly (Velker) Porter.

He was a member of the Enid High School graduating class of 1978. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, in 1982, where he was an active and enthusiastic member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

He is survived by a son and daughter, Harrison and Morgan; father, Dennis; brothers, Matthew and Peter; sister, Mary; niece, Yohana; an uncle, Jack (Dorothy) Velker; an aunt, Mary Crichton; brother-in-law, Steven Suhn; and mother of Harrison and Morgan, Belinda (Belt) Porter.

His mother preceded him in death.

A celebration of his life was held Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the home of his close friend and Sigma Chi fraternity brother, Scott Vincent. Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, his family and many friends shared humorous stories and memories of Paul. Arrangements were by Drinkwine Family Mortuary, Littleton, Colo.

Paul will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He always will be remembered for his exuberant spirit, his irrepressible lust for life, his love of animals, especially camels, and the big fish that always seemed to elude him.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Pauls name to The Wild Animal Sanctuary, 1946 County Road 53, Keenesburg, CO 80643, or online at www.wildan imalsanctuary.org/#!waystohelp/c1zf0.
