Marty J Porter

Marty J Porter
July 4, 1943 ~ January 1, 2014

Marty was born July 4, 1943 in Winterset, Iowa. He attended Winterset high school, graduating in 1961. He had a great time in high school and enjoyed life to the fullest.

After graduation he joined the U. S. Marine Corp. serving 8 years and served in Viet Nam.

He worked as an Engineer on the Chicago Northwestern railroad.

He attended OSU and worked in golf course design and management in Oklahoma City, Yukon and Tulsa and extending to golf courses in Thailand, Malaysia and Viet Nam.

Marty moved back to Oklahoma in 2000 and retired in Shawnee.

He passed away on January 1, 2014 following a lengthy illness.

He was preceded in death by his father John and brother Nelson (Butch).

He is survived by his mother Madeline Bennett and sister Marlys Wollard both of Des Moines, Iowa. Marty will be greatly missed by many close friends around the world.
